OSGATHORPE PARISH PLAN: Planning the future, Respecting the past

NOW is your chance to have your say on issues that matter to you as residents of Osgathorpe, tell local agencies how can your life be improved!

On the 5th/6th July a questionnaire will be delivered to your door, asking questions on the things that matter most to you, for instance; the environment, young people, housing and transport. Once complete, the responses are put into an Action Plan to be actioned by local agencies, such as the Leicestershire County Council, the North West Leicestershire District Council and the Primary Care Trust. The Parish Plan Action Plan gives evidence to these agencies, stating what the village wants, and where funding should be spent!

Remember, the success of the Parish Plan is dependent on your input, so make sure you remember to complete your copy!

Please help Osgathorpe by getting involved – send us your ideas, volunteer to help, and, most importantly, answer the questionnaire when it is circulated. Completed questionnaires will be collected from each household after two weeks. a raffle will be held for the return of completed questionnaires with excellent prizes to be won!

Fly Tipping

The incidents of Fly Tipping have increased considerably over the last few months.

The favourite places seem to be field gateways along our beautiful, winding, hedged and verged lanes.

Building waste is dumped most frequently and it seems to be unregistered tradesmen at the end of the day when otherwise it would cost large sums in Landfill Tax to go to a trade waste disposal site.

NWLDC informed the Parish Council that they were taking action on this issue but perhaps it has displaced the activity from the outskirts of Coalville to the Villages.
